Developed by Sonarworks, the SoundID Reference Multichannel Calibration Software is extremely intuitive and effective when it comes to mixing surround sound and helps to ensure a balanced frequency response. This boxed edition includes a measurement microphone and is made up of three parts: the Reference Measure app for creating profiles; the Reference plugin for CST, AAX and AU DAW integration; and the Reference Systemwide app for applying the calibration to your computer system. Since a completely flat frequency response doesn't exactly mirror real life, the Reference plugin and Systemwide app give you the pick of various Dolby curves as well as common end-user profiles such as 'car', 'home cinema' and 'smartphone'. Of course, the frequency response can also be tweaked to taste with the Custom Target EQ.
